About The Farmstay
An eco-friendly farmstay where you live close to nature, eat from the garden, and experience Ladakhi village life. Slow travel, warm hosting, and simple, clean comfort.
In the Heart of Nubra, With Stunning Trans-Himalaya Views
Built as a small, self-sustaining home for travelers, Ladakh Ecotel sits among fields and poplars with views of the Trans-Himalaya. We keep our footprint light—solar water heating, composting, minimal plastic—and work with neighbors for village walks, monastery visits, and craft experiences. Come for silence; stay for stories and starlit skies.
In the heart of Nubra Valley
Dorjey Namgyal
After decades in uniform, serving the nation in some of the toughest terrains and highest altitudes, our host returned home to Nubra with a new mission: to create a place of peace, simplicity, and community.
As an ex-Defense officer, discipline, resilience, and love for the land have always guided his life. The same values now shape Ladakh Ecotel Farmstay. What was once just a family home and a patch of farmland has been nurtured—by him and his family—into a sustainable farmstay where travelers can slow down, eat fresh from the garden, and share stories under Ladakh’s open skies.
Here, hospitality is not a business—it is a continuation of service. Guests are welcomed with the same warmth, care, and integrity that once defined his years in defense. For his family, running the farmstay is a way of keeping Ladakh’s traditions alive while opening their doors to the world.
Every cup of tea shared, every walk through the fields, and every evening spent under the stars carries the quiet pride of a man who once guarded the country’s borders, and now tends to its culture, soil, and people.
